Oh the rain, will it ever end?

I finished basting a quilt sandwich last night for a late late birthday gift. Thank goodness my family is understanding, I seem to be late for everything. After working on the basting until 11pm last night, I'm disappointed and embarrassed to say that I haven't even quilted one little stitch. We are back to the same old question........what color of thread should I use to quilt this beauty? I seem to get hung up on this color dillema for every aspect of every project I do.

I use my little Brother XR-52 to piece and quilt all my quilts so far. My Husband bought this machine for me in 2002 and it works like a million bucks for straight lines, not so well for free motion quilting. Since I seem to be hooked on zig-zag quilts right now, the straight lines are great. Maybe someday I can get a machine that is designed for quilting but I can promise that I won't expire without it. I can always hop on over to my local quilt shop, Homespun Quilts in Astoria, Oregon (did I mention I live in the middle of nowhere and everything is at least 37 miles away?) and rent their long arm if I have the urge.

I finally figured out how to get a picture on my blog. It's not the greatest picture but it's something at least! This is a baby quilt I made for my Great-Nephew, Logan. I had most of this fabric for years and years and anybody can make a 9-patch right? After much thought I ended up with a deconstructed 9-patch and I love the scrappy look.

Thanks for stopping by!

I live in the middle of nowhere and can sympathize about having to drive to go anywhere.
